CANTON FAIR

April 2022

NOTE: This is only to hold space. China has NOT announced that the 131st Canton Fair will be live, and the program is dependent upon International Travel Rules and Health Regulations

If  It's  Open,  We  WILL  Go!

What is the canton fair

The Largest Gathering of Factories and Suppliers In The World

The Canton Fair, officially known as The China Import and Export Exposition, is huge! It’s the size of three airports. Almost a half mile of exhibitors. The size of 217 football fields.

At the Canton Fair you can see, touch, and examine samples in person. You also get to see a variety of different options, so you can compare the quality of your specific product compared to different factories. And of course, engaging with your supplier face-to-face also builds trust and rapport, which makes the entire sourcing process simpler and smoother.

If you are serious about increasing your profit margins, lowering your product costs, finding a factory, understanding your supply chain, building a relationship with them, scaling your brand, and putting your business growth on steroids, there is nothing comparable to attending the Canton Fair.

Next Steps

What To Do Now...

Do Nothing. Well, almost nothing.

We cannot promise that the April Canton Fair will be  in-person, and we cannot predict travel and health regulations. There are some indications that it will remain closed for foreigners, and some indications it will be open and live again.  We hope it will be, and this is simply a way to hold your space.

I do not expect China to decide until March, which will not leave much time to do things once an announcement is made.

Here is a list of things you can do now, and things you should wait to do.

DO NOW:

1) Register for the waiting list, or for a guaranteed spot if you prefer. Either way, you will receive regular updates on the situation in China, travel regulations, health regulations, and the program.

2) You need a Passport and a BUSINESS Visa to enter China. Therefore, if you do not have a Passport apply for one now.

3) If you have a passport, check your expiration.  Make sure it is still valid and will be for at least 6 months after your expected entry date.

4) Check your local Chinese Embassy in your own country to see if they are issuing BUSINESS Visas yet.  Continue to check once a month until they are open.

WAIT:

5) Do not apply for a Visa until you talk to me. In most countries a Business Visa requires an invitation from a company inside China. I will arrange that once Visa issuances restart.

6) Do not arrange flights. Wait until dates of the Canton Fair and our program are set.  Our China trip includes activities before and after the Fair and we do not know yet which of these are allowable under Covid restrictions. Do not want to arrange flights until I can provide you solid dates.

7) Do not arrange a hotel. We will stay together at the same hotel with special rates for our group. We will not have details until travel and health regulations are announced.

IMPORTANT:

A lot of work and coordination goes into creating the trip and associated activities. Our goal is to be useful, informative, profitable, and memorable. As you can see in the video below, there are many activities and optional side trips in addition to the Canton Fair itself. (Yes, optional trip to care for Pandas too.) Once the Fair is announced I need to arrange transportation, housing, meals, events, mentors, guests, factories, attractions, buses, training rooms, meeting rooms, guides, and more.

These would be impossible to arrange unless I knew how many people were attending beforehand and could hit the ground running as soon as they announce the Fair is on. That is why I have opened registration.

Optional Paid Reservations are limited to 18.

We do not know how many people they will even allow in a classroom or on a hired bus. Prior to Covid that number could grow as high as 36.  If we have to space people apart that lowers the total to 18.

Therefore I am limiting the number of paid reservations to 18 only. If we go higher than that I may need to hire a second bus to take us to events I will, but I am not taking paid reservations for that. Only the free waiting list.

Perhaps China will not allow foreigners to attend in April. But if they do, I want to be ready and prepared to give you an experience that will change your business, and your life.

If the 131st Canton Fair does not occur, or if health or travel reasons prohibit you from attending, deposits will be returned 100%.  Don’t worry. You will not risk your money.

This is a fluid situation. The program may change or shift as the travel and health situation changes.

Dates: Dates will be around mid-April. The exact dates and length of the Fair has not been announced. In the past the Fair has been held in three phases, each lasting just under a week. We do not know what the April Fair format will be since the Fair has not been announced yet.

Price: The price per attendee will be around $6-8,500. The price will depend on opportunities and costs not yet known in post-Covid China.

EVENTS: Typically the program would cover the second phase of the Fair, plus factory visits, training days and much more. However, until China announces the structure of the April Fair, and establishes health regulations for factories allowing foreigners, the structure and included events are up in the air.

UPDATES: We expect that official Chinese news about the 131st Canton Fair will not be available until at least late February 2022. However, anyone who is registered will get regular updates.

ADD-ONs: Optional add-on programs including an optional trip to Yiwu, 1:1 personalized Factory Visits, Discovery Days, and even a Panda visit will be announced once the Fair is officially announced.

REGISTRATION:
WAIT LIST REGISTRATION: You can register by placing your name on this reservation list. You will receive updates and first chance to register when full registration opens. Plus, anyone who is on the waiting list will receive 10% off registration price. Note: Because of the limited size, registration will be on first come basis and is not guaranteed.

OPTIONAL DEPOSIT: For people who register and place an early deposit, you will receive updates and first chance to register with a guaranteed spot.  Plus, you will receive a 20% registration discount.
